Wild Boar 70.3 & OLYMPIC triathlon

Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th June 2027 - Mallards Pike, Lydney

The Wild Boar Triathlon returns to the Forest of Dean for 2027

Featuring a beautiful lake for your open water swim, secure bike racking, chip timing.

A fabulous bike route and a run that starts and ends with a run around the beautiful mallards pike lake.

Saturday - Olympic (Wild Boar)   

1500m Swim

45k Bike

10k Run

Sunday - Middle Distance (Wild Boar 70.3) 

1900m Swim

90k Bike 

21k Run

 

This is a tough event with an incredible open water swim, very scenic bike & run routes, and safe transitions.

Saturday:

12:00 Registration opens

12:50 Race briefing

Sunday:

07:00 Registration opens

08:20 Race briefing

08:30 70.3 distance starts


You will receive race chip to be worn on left ankle, a number for your bike & helmet, a race number for bike & run, and a coloured swim hat.
Once you have registered you can proceed to T1 to rack your bike and place your bike & run items.

Boxes & bags are permitted in transition area. ONLY ATHLETES are permitted in transition area.

Olympic Distance Saturday 12th June 2027


Mallards Pike.
Gloucestershire 
GL15 4HD

Parking:- Pay and display Forestry Commission parking.

Swim:- 1.5 km in lake

Bike:- 40 km tough bike

Run:- 10k Forest trail run

Registration (by the lake): 11.45 am

Race Brief: 1.00pm

Event Start: 1.15pm

 

A information board will be located at registration with all key information for the day and race.

Staff members will be visible to answer any queries or concerns about the day.

SWIM


A clockwise 1.5km swim (2 loops) entering and exiting at the same point.

Kit:- 
Wet suite will be mandatory.
Bring your own swim cap.
Running shoes/trail shoes will be required to run 400 metres from the lake exit to the bike transition (arrows and marshalls will guide you).
Strictly no crocs/flip flops/sandals - this is a slippery gravel path.

BIKE

There is one water station at the exit/entrance to transition with energy bars/gels and hydration.

We advise taking water/gels/anything needed out on route with you.

RUN

Water station with food every 2.5 km.

The run is a 5k route to be completed twice.

Collect a wristband after every lap - cross the finish line when you have 2x bands.

Registration (by the lake): 6.45 am

Race Brief: 8.00am

Event Start: 8.15am

Kit:-

BIKE

2x full loops of the bike route to complete 90km

There is a water stop on the route where you leave/enter the transition area with energy bars/gels and hydration. Personal bottles/food etc can be left safely here.

RUN

Water station with food every 2.5 km.

The run is a 5k route to be completed four times.

Collect a wristband after every lap - cross the finish line when you have 4x bands.
